Energy & Environment Lab – Summer Research Assistants (2025)


Chicago or remote - 10-week internship - U.S. work authorization required

The Energy & Environment Lab is hiring Summer RAs to support large-scale environmental policy research projects. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical, programming, and research skills and a keen interest in energy and environmental policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and analyze data using R or Python
  • Build statistical and/or machine learning models
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist in report writing
  • Help develop and coordinate projects
  • Present results through visuals and summaries
Requirements:
  • Progress toward a degree in economics, computer science, or a related field
  • Coursework in econ, stats, CS, or applied math
  • Experience with R or Python preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in environmental/energy policy a plus
