ESHQ Environmental Programs Support
Location: Golden, CO
Hours: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Salary: $34,800 - $55,700 (Annual Equivalent)
About the Internship
Join NREL’s Environmental, Safety, Health, and Quality (ESHQ) Environmental Programs team to gain hands-on experience in environmental compliance and protection. Responsibilities include:
Summarizing environmental program data
- Conducting inspections (stormwater, spill preparedness, air emissions)
- Assisting with hazardous waste documentation and compliance reviews
- Collecting and analyzing environmental samples
- Supporting wildlife monitoring and habitat management
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s or master’s program (recent grads eligible for up to one-year internship)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills
- Basic knowledge of environmental regulations and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work outdoors and in varied weather conditions
Preferred Fields of Study
Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related disciplines.
