What makes our system different?

The BiG project aims to create a system that is both economically and environmentally sustainable. To achieve this, we will incorporate algal cultivation, a biogas boiler, and an anaerobic digester. These elements will generate energy for the system and produce value-added products. Algae, the most abundant plant on Earth, has the ability to purify water by removing nitrogen and phosphorus, allowing us to recirculate the water back into the fish tank. The biogas boiler and anaerobic digester will then use the algae to generate energy, powering various needs of the aquaponics system.

Integrated Aquaponics System Our integrated aquaponics system will include the traditional components of an aquaponics system along with the additional algal cultivation unit, biogas boiler and anaerobic digester.
