Invasive Plant Technician
This position would work to improve ecosystems and habitats on WREC-owned property, and the properties of our community partners. This is a 100% field job, primarily consisting of cutting and treating honeysuckle, tree of heaven, and wintercreeper.

Primary duties
  • Use hand tools, electric tools, and herbicides to manage invasive plants.
  • Navigate both urban and rural properties, through thick vegetation and uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
  • Work both alone and with other technicians.
  • Earn an herbicide technician certification, paid for by WREC.

  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Safety-minded
  • Experience working both on a team and solo
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and navigate uneven terrain
  • Reliable transportation to both urban and rural properties
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Compensation: $19/hour, approximately 5 hours/week
