Hendricks County Parks & Recreation – Part-Time Assistant Naturalist
Hendricks County Parks & Recreation is hiring a Part-Time Assistant Naturalist to work 4 days per week, 28 hours/week, at $21.20/hour. The position is primarily based at McCloud Nature Park, with occasional work at Vandalia Trail and W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park. No benefits are provided for part-time positions.
The Assistant Naturalist will help develop and present nature and environmental education programs, assist with nature center operations, and support exhibits and displays that promote appreciation of Central Indiana’s natural environment.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have knowledge of nature, biology, and the outdoors, strong written and verbal communication skills, and familiarity with multimedia presentation techniques. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required.
Schedule & Requirements:
Must be able to work weekends and some evenings and be comfortable working indoors and outdoors, walking on uneven terrain, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Additional Information:
Reports to the Park Naturalist. A criminal background check is required.
