Our mission is to reduce the burden of foodborne illness by leveraging global food safety expertise in locally led projects.
We target food safety knowledge gaps on farms, during processing, at market, and within households. We believe that systemic change in food safety practices and policies has untapped potential for creating resilience, from the wellbeing of individuals to the food security and economic opportunity of nations.
This project is targeting food safety gaps in the production, distribution, and sale of vegetables in Cambodia. The team is identifying the bacterial pathogens that pose the greatest food safety risk and investigating critical control points within the food value chain to identify contributors to pathogen contamination, transmission, and persistence.
