Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc., Indiana’s largest nonprofit farm organization, is seeking one policy intern to work in collaboration with the Purdue College of Agriculture's Office of Academic Programs for the spring semester. This intern will work up to 37.5 hours per week on policy analysis and grassroots programming associated with the legislative session. This spring internship takes place over Purdue’s spring academic semester.
The policy intern will work with the Indiana Farm Bureau Public Policy Team during the state legislative session. The public policy team is responsible for advocacy, policy development and policy implementation, as well as identifying, monitoring and representing agricultural interests on emerging issues.
The internship is a full-time opportunity and will involve working on activities that enhance Farm Bureau member engagement in public policy and understanding how policy will impact Indiana agriculture.
Work will be five days per week at the INFB corporate offices in Indianapolis and at the State Capitol.
Strong written and oral communication skills and organizational skills are required. Applicant should be self-motivated; detail-oriented and exhibit strong interest in public policy issues. An agricultural background is preferred. The pay rate is $12/hour from Indiana Farm Bureau as well as a stipend from the Purdue College of Agriculture.
Any College of Agriculture student in their sophomore through senior year is encouraged to apply. Students must be at least 18 years of age, completed at least one semester of classes on the West Lafayette campus, and have a current GPA of 3.0 or above.

- Applications and letters of recommendation are due online by October 16, 2022 for the 2021 public policy internship program
- Applications are reviewed by a committee of faculty and staff shortly after the deadline.
- For spring internships, final interviews and selections are made in late October by the site coordinators who will be the intern's supervisor(s)
- Preparation workshops are held for spring interns in November before beginning their internships in January.
