Snapshots of Indiana Groundwater
Groundwater monitoring wells observed the normal increase in water storage starting in October and continuing into March and April for all locations. Groundwater levels dropped rapidly for all of the monitoring locations starting in May and June but only Tippecanoe [6], Jasper [1] and Wayne [7] Counties dropped below their respective start of the year water levels. Tippecanoe [6] and Wayne [7] Counties along with Knox County [3] were still reporting declining water tables at the end of the 2022 water year. Other counties experienced some level of recovery in September.
