Position Overview 

The Associate Landscape Designer plays a key role in delivering exceptional residential landscapes from
concept to completion. This position supports the design, estimating, sales and installation teams in
creating customized, high-quality outdoor environments that reflect our clients’ visions and lifestyle
needs.This role bridges creative design work and customer relations with practical field coordination and
cost estimating, ensuring projects are accurate, efficient, and aligned with client expectations.

Ideally, the Associate Landscape Designer will transition into a Landscape Designer role within a year or
two depending on the quality of skills and techniques acquired during the time spent as an Associate.

Key Responsibilities

Design Support

  • Prepare presentation materials, such as renderings, plant palettes, and layout plans.
  • Conduct site measurements, surveys, and photo documentation.
  • Create CAD and 3D drawings, ensuring accuracy and design intent.
  • Research and recommend appropriate plant materials, hardscape elements, and custom design
    features.

Estimating Support

  • Prepare cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals.
  • Review plans and specifications to identify materials, labor, and equipment needs.
  • Maintain and update vendor and subcontractor pricing databases.
  • Support bid comparisons and value-engineering alternatives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, artisans, and subcontractors to source project materials and finishes.
  • Assist project managers in tracking budgets and providing value-engineering options.

Installation Support

  • Coordinate with field teams and project manager to ensure designs are implemented accurately
    and efficiently.
  • Support scheduling, material ordering, and logistics for installations.
  • Assist in on-site quality control and progress documentation.
  • Communicate design intent to installation crews and resolve minor discrepancies.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Construction
    Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in landscape design, estimating, or project coordination preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD, 3D rendering, and Google Suite; familiarity with estimating software a plus.
  • Skilled in grading and drainage design, and hardscape installation detailing.
  • Strong plant identification and horticultural knowledge.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in both office and field environments.
  • Commitment to delivering meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Passion for residential landscapes, design, and construction.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a growing team.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular site visits and occasional travel to project locations required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
