Frequently Asked Questions
As long as you submit a College of Agriculture Scholarship application by February, you will be eligible for Spring 2025 College of Agriculture scholarships. Please visit the OAP scholarships page for exact deadlines and more information.
The number of semesters it takes a student to earn their undergraduate degree depends on a number of factors. Time to degree factors include, but are not limited to: the student’s academic program(s), college credit earned in high school or prior to matriculating to Purdue, coursework completed during summer terms, and the number of credit hours a student earns per semester.
This depends on your interests and goals, and we want to help you make a plan! Special optional programming will be offered to College of Agriculture Spring Start students in the Fall semester. You could enroll in courses elsewhere (completing no more than 11 credit hours after your high school graduation) to get a jump start on transferable coursework. Pursuing an internship or job in your community could also be a great way to gain experience and earn money to assist in paying for your education. Some students might elect to travel or take advantage of additional educational opportunities.
The Transfer Credit Course Equivalency Guide allows you to look up courses one by one to determine how they might transfer to Purdue. You should use this tool along with the plan of study for your desired major to assess how college credit may apply to your desired major. Courses taken at the Purdue regional campuses are Purdue credit; this tool cannot be used for this purpose.
To remain an incoming new beginner for Spring semester, you will need to ensure you do not complete more than 11 credit hours after your high school graduation and prior to matriculating to Purdue. If you complete 12 or more college credits after high school, you will need to apply to Purdue as a transfer student.
We encourage you to speak with your academic advisor for suggested transferable courses. Please reach out to us at purdueag@purdue.edu to connect with an advisor for your academic program.
All College of Agriculture Spring Start students who accept their offer of admission will virtually meet with their academic advisor during the summer. You are welcome to connect with an academic advisor prior to that as well. Please email purdueag@purdue.edu to schedule a virtual or in-person meeting with an academic advisor for your academic program.
Boiler Cold Rush (BCR) is a welcome weekend orientation program the University hosts for new undergraduate students admitted to Purdue for the Spring semester. Additional information about BCR can be found here. The College of Agriculture will host additional programs to help facilitate community and connections to on-campus resources and organizations.
On-campus housing is available for new beginners who start in the spring semester. College of Agriculture Spring Start students will apply for housing during the housing application timeline for Spring semester. Please see the University Residences site for additional information.
The spring housing application typically opens in October. When available, deadlines and processes can be found on the University Residences' site.
