Chao work as a post-Doc in Dr. Mengiste from 2016. His work is mainly focus on plant immune mechanism against fungal pathogens in Arabidopsis, tomato, and Sorghum. He used molecular, genetic, biochemistry, and proteomomics approaches to study immune-related proteins including histone acetyltransferases and receptor-like cytoplasmic kinases (RLCKs).
