Agronomic Achievement Award
The Agronomic Achievement Award was established by the Department of Agronomy in 2000, to recognize and honor alumni and friends of the department for contributions to the agronomic profession or industry. Individuals selected must be in attendance to receive this Award.
Criteria & Selection Process:
- Eligible nominees include alumni, former post-docs, and professionals with an active connection to Agronomy
- Nominees must have made or have the potential to make a notable contribution to the agronomic and environmental profession or industry.
- Nominations will be solicited both internally and externally
- Nominators should prepare a 1-2 page letter documenting a) professional achievement and b) service to the Department and/or industry.
- Preference will be given to mid-career individuals (10 to 25 years since most recent degree)
- Up to three awards will be given per year, with no more than one given to graduate alumni, post-docs, or affiliated professionals.
- Departmental Awards Committee selects recipients nominated for this award, in consultation with the Department Head. A list of nominees will be kept active for three years, after which they will need to be renominated for active consideration.
Nominations will be accepted until November 1st, 2025 for the awards presented on April 17th, 2026.
