Geneticist (Science Advisor)
In this position, you will provide technical management and coordination for multilateral and bilateral research, with emphasis on efforts relating to genetics and plant breeding, especially in the context of agriculture.
This job opportunity is suitable for a PhD graduate or MS student with multiple years of experience.
The position is posted through USDA-ARS, but will work with the Bureau for Resilience, Environment, and Food Security on Feed the Future programming.
Summer Intern - Climatologist
Salary: $15/hour; 40 hours/week
Duties & Responsibilities: This position is designed to expose the intern to the range of activities performed by the MRCC. The intern will assist MRCC climatologists with outreach and education activities (e.g., social media, marketing of products and tools), in responding to data and information requests in the MRCC service office, and with applied research projects.

The Data and Digital Agriculture (DDA) team in the Global Engagement Unit of the Agriculture and Food Global Department at the World Bank is developing the Agri-Food Data Advisory Facility. This facility is a cutting-edge platform designed to revolutionize data discovery and use in the agricultural sector. Leveraging internal and external data sources, the Agri-Food Data Advisory Facility employs generative AI to provide actionable insights, fostering data-driven agricultural decision-making for project teams designing and implementing Agri-Food investments globally.
The Data Facility is structured around four pillars: Soil Fertility, Digital Traceability, Low-Emissions Agriculture and Crop Monitoring/Yield Predictions, as well as across two country pilots.
The DDA team seeks two interns to support the work of the team in developing the Agri-Food Data Advisory Facility.
Watershed Project Manager of the "Smart Soils Initiative"
Seeking technology-minded, agricultural problem-solvers who are ready to integrate their knowledge of agronomy and soil health with remote sensing applications. Using both drone imagery and static soil moisture sensors, this project manager will provide growers with real-time data on plant health and production indicators. Current projects are underway with diverse farm management styles and are introduced here.
Those with current FAA Part 107 Drone Certification are especially encouraged to apply.
The successful individual will join a dynamic group of young scientists who work both in the office and in the field with producers to facilitate successful ROI alongside maximized soil health.
