About the dairy challenge team

Purdue competes in both the Midwest Dairy Challenge and the North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge Contests in the Spring semesters.

The mission of Dairy Challenge is to: Develop tomorrow's dairy industry leaders to foster a sustainable future by providing educational, professional growth, and networking opportunities for students, dairy producers, agribusiness, and academic personnel.

The Midwest Dairy Challenge is held in February and Purdue students are placed on teams with students from across the Midwest. As these composite teams, students will evaluate a commercial dairy farm and present back their findings to a panel of judges.

The North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge (NAIDC) is held in March or April and students compete as teams representing their schools. Students are given access to farm records, visit the farm, interview the farmer, and develop a presentation that they deliver to a panel of judges.

The North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge Contest is a two-day event that brings together students from across the US and Canada to gain real-life, hands-on experience and learn from industry experts.
