resources - TRAINING MANUALS

The following training manuals provide detailed information and guidance to Indiana pesticide applicators who are interested in becoming licensed to apply pesticides as a for-hire service to their client’s property or who will be applying restricted-use pesticides to their employer’s property or on their farm.

Each manual is carefully designed to help prepare the reader for the corresponding state certification exam. These manuals can serve as self-preparation for applicators who elect to take examinations on their own, and they are also an important component of classroom instruction.

Applicants who choose to participate in in-person training sessions or eLearning courses do not need to order separate manuals; training materials are automatically included as part of the registration fee.
Note: Private applicators must obtain the Core Training Manual, which covers the fundamental concepts required for certification.

Order training manuals online by clicking on the manual title. For questions regarding an online order, please email edustore@purdue.edu or call 765-494-6794.

The date shown with each manual indicates the most current version available. Manuals are periodically updated to match the latest certification exam content. Users should compare the date printed on the back cover of their manual with the date listed online to ensure they are studying the most up-to-date edition.

Certification exams are administered through Metro Institute. To schedule an exam appointment:
