Junior Pork Day

The 2025 Junior Pork Day will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. The event begins with registration at 8:30 AM ($5 fee), followed by a welcome address at 9:00 AM by Dr. Brian Richert and Dr. Paul Ebner.

Throughout the morning, participants will rotate through three hands-on sessions: Live Animal Evaluation, Carcass Evaluation and Hands-On Activities covering pig health and judging techniques. After a lunch break at 12:15 PM, afternoon workshops include Pork Jeopardy, Showmanship Preparation, and Everything is Better with Bacon.

The event concludes at 3:00 PM with announcements, door prizes, and awards. Supported by industry organizations, it provides a valuable educational experience for youth in swine production. For more details or accommodations, contact Dr. Brian Richert or Courtney Stierwalt by February 18, 2025.
