Student Opportunities

The ASEC graduate experience develops students academically, professionally, and socially. Students engage in a variety of experiences to prepare for them their careers, connect them with communities and the discipline, and build friendships for a lifetime.

Professional Conferences: Graduate students share innovative ideas and research through professional conferences such as the Agricultural Communicators in Education (ACE), American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE), American Education Research Association (AERA), Association Career and Technical Education Research (ACTER), National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) and professional societies in agricultural engineering and life sciences.

Teaching Experiences: Graduate students gain professional development through teaching opportunities in informal and formal education venues such as 4-H Career Development Events, Indiana State Fair, precollege camps, and the Purdue PK-12 Program.

A Sense of Community: The ASEC Graduate Student Organization in an informal group of graduate students who participate in student governance in ASEC, College of Agriculture, and Purdue Graduate Senate, intramural activities, and social networking. Students in ASEC share the common bond of being a community of learners.
