COMMUNICATIONS & MEMBERSHIP INTERN (SUMMER 2026)
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Compensation: Paid internship and $400 technology stipend
Position Dates: 10-12 week flexible internship between May 11 - August 21, 2026
The ACI Summer Internship provides hands‑on experience within a fast‑paced, mission‑driven association serving Indiana’s agribusiness community. Intern will gain exposure to communications, membership engagement, event planning, and industry outreach while contributing to meaningful projects that support ACI’s programs and strategic priorities. This role is ideal for students who are eager to learn, take initiative, and build professional skills through real‑world work and collaboration with industry leaders. This role will be remote with occasional travel for events and meetings. The intern has access to work in an office environment at the ACI Office, 8425 Keystone Crossing, #220B, Indianapolis, IN 46240. The intern reports to the President and CEO.
Responsibilities
- Support ACI’s communications efforts, including the weekly e‑newsletter, social media content, and direct outreach to members
- Develop economic impact materials using national datasets tailored to legislative districts
- Contact members to verify and update information within the membership database
- Conduct membership database cleanup, including research, data entry, and profile updates
- Curate a prospective members list
- Represent ACI at meetings, programs, and events
- Assist with planning and execution of the Emerging Professionals Leadership Program and ACI Regional Meetings
- Contribute to the development and delivery of ACI summer events, including the Golf Outing, ACI Political Action Committee fundraising event, and legislative outreach events
- Perform additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- College student (sophomore–senior) majoring in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, with preference for those pursuing an agriculture‑focused degree
- Experience and interest in research
- Prior experience with Canva, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Proficient in utilizing Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace and Microsoft Suite
