Farm Hand

Location: Delphi, IN
Position Type: In-person, Seasonal
Compensation: Starting at $15/hour

We are looking for hardworking individuals who enjoy agriculture and want hands-on experience in a grain and cattle operation. Employment through silage and harvest season, with the possibility of continued employment afterward. Most work hours will be after classes in the afternoon and evening, some morning hours may be available depending on class schedule. Beale Farms is located 25 minutes from campus, near Delphi, IN.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operating a grain cart
• Cleaning the cattle barn
• Spreading manure
• Performing tillage operations
• Possible semi-truck driving
• Assisting with cattle care, including treating and working cattle
• Moving cows from pasture
• Mowing roadsides and pastures
• General farm work and daily chores

QUALIFICATIONS

• Communicate their availability around their school schedule
• Be willing and able to work in a commercial grain and cattle operation
• Have the ability to operate large farm equipment
• Be physically capable of:
  • Handling feed sacks
  • Catching newborn calves
  • Shoveling grain
• Weekend availability is preferred
