ISDA Food Export Internship
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Compensation: $18/hr
Position Duration: This is a summer internship with the opportunity to work up to 37.5 hours per week from May to August 2027. The internship has the option to be renewed for up to 15 hours per week during the fall and/or spring semesters, upon approval from ISDA and Food Export-Midwest.
ISDA is committed to enhancing the state’s agricultural industry by expanding export opportunities for local producers. ISDA works closely with partners like the Food Export Association of the Midwest to promote U.S. food and agricultural products in international markets.
The Food Export intern supports ISDA and Food Export-Midwest international marketing activities that promote the export of Indiana agricultural products to global markets. The intern will perform international marketing, project management, and administrative tasks in support of ISDA staff on Food Export activities. The intern will have the opportunity to work directly with agricultural exporters to provide assistance and share information on export resources. The intern must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to conduct detailed desk research, and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Database Management: Update and maintain databases of local agricultural companies, create new profiles, and identify companies that are no longer active
- Marketing and Promotion: Assist in promoting Food Export and state events
- Research: Conduct market research to gather data on international markets, trade opportunities, and industry trends
- Event Support: Help organize, plan, and execute trade seminars, events, and promotional activities that enhance international marketing efforts
- Content Creation: Develop promotional materials, including success stories and newsletters that highlight the success of local agricultural exporters and promote Food Export initiatives
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, including coordinating meetings, preparing presentations, and assisting with documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student with an accredited post-secondary institution and have completed at least one (1) year of undergraduate education in a related field.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and/or authorized to work in the United States.
