No poster - just a prop.

You're invited to participate in Experience ACRE's Research PROPosal, our fresh take on the classic poster session. This year, we're ditching the posters - but keeping the science.

Instead of a traditional research poster, each participant will bring one prop to showcase their work. It could be a plant, soil core, sensor, photo, model, hand tool, something you craft or build, or something completely unexpected. Your challenge is to creatively and effectively communicate your research using only a single object as your anchor. Think of it as "show and tell" with an academic twist!

Q: Who can participate?
A: Research PROPosal is open to undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, visiting scholars doing research at or related to ACRE.

Q: What counts as a prop?
A: Anything that helps tell the story of your research. This could be a tool, sample, model, plant, photo, 3D print, or something symbolic or handmade. If you can explain how it connects, it counts!

Q: Can I bring more than one item?
A: Please bring just one prop per project or team (a small set - like a tray of soil samples or a sensor with parts - is fine if it makes sense as a single display).

Q: Do I need to prepare a speech?
A: If you'd like! Just be ready with a quick, engaging explanation (3-4 minutes) of your research and how your prop ties into it. Casual conversational is fine.

Q: Will I have a table or display space?
A: Yes - we'll provide tables. If you need power or have a special setup request, let us know in advance.

Q: Can we present as a team?
A: Yes - teams are welcome, but still one prop per team.

Q: Will there be judging or prizes?
A: Yes! Prizes will be awarded based on creativity, clarity, and connection between your prop and your research.
