Seminar Title

"Digital Soil Mapping for Precision Agriculture: From Soil Data to Decision Support"

I am an agronomist and Associate Professor at the School of Agricultural Engineering, University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, where I have been a faculty member since 2015. I hold an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Crop Science, including a doctoral research internship at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA.

My research focuses on Precision and Digital Agriculture, particularly on the use of remote and proximal sensing, geostatistics, soil sampling strategies, and digital soil mapping to transform spatial data into actionable information for agricultural decision-making. A major focus of my current research is developing mapping approaches that support more efficient and site-specific management of agricultural inputs.

I have authored more than 60 scientific papers, five book chapters, and a Brazilian reference book on Precision Agriculture, and have supervised ten master's and six doctoral students. I am a Research Productivity Fellow of the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).

I currently serve as Scientific Director of the Brazilian Association of Precision Agriculture (AsBraAP) and as the ISPA Board Representative for Latin America and
the Caribbean. In 2026, I received the Pierre C.Robert Precision Agriculture Young Scientist Award. My research is strongly connected to international collaborations in North America and Europe, as well as to close partnerships with farmers and agricultural service providers, helping bridge scientific research and practical decision-making in commercial agriculture.
