From Data to Decisions: Applying On-Farm Analytics in Dairy and Beef Systems Departmental Seminar
Tadeu da Silva, Ph.D. In this seminar, Tadeu da Silva, Ph.D., will discuss how automation and precision livestock technologies in dairy and beef operations enable data-driven decision-making. He will explain how scientific knowledge, analytics and modeling can be integrated into farm management, while addressing key challenges such as data integration, data quality and building robust data pipelines for reliable on-farm decisions.
Tadeu da Silva earned his BS, MS and PhD in Animal Science from the Universidade Federal de Viçosa, specializing in ruminant nutrition and modeling. He worked at Cargill applying data analytics in livestock systems and later completed a postdoc at the University of Wisconsin-Madison developing dairy decision-support tools. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vermont, focusing on data analytics and machine learning in dairy systems.
The seminar will take place in CRTN 1011 or via Zoom. Please contact Marion Welsh for the Zoom link.
