2026 Book Harmon Leadership Forum
Marissa Hake, DVM The Purdue University Department of Animal Sciences and the Book Harmon Leadership Forum will welcome Marissa Hake, DVM, Senior Director of Animal Welfare and Sustainable Farming at Fairlife, LLC, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Hake will speak at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. in Wilmeth Active Learning Center (WALC) Room B058.
Hake is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Public Health. She lives in northwest Ohio with her husband, Travis, and their two sons.
In addition to her role at Fairlife, Hake helps manage her family's British White beef cattle herd and Black Label Farm Market, their direct-to-consumer meat shop. She is passionate about communicating with consumers about modern agriculture and shares her experiences as a veterinarian, farmer and beef producer through her Calf Vet social media platforms.
