August Plant ID Walk

Natural areas in Dubois and Orange Counties feature some great native plants, but also destructive invasive plants like Garlic Mustard, Autumn Olive, Japanese Stiltgrass, and Burning Bush. Brush up on your plant ID skills throughout the season at these free plant ID nature walks, provided by the Invasive Species Awareness Coalition (ISAC) of Dubois County and the Orange County Invasives Partnership (OCIP). No RSVPs needed, rain or shine (except in case of severe weather).

This plant ID walk will be located at Patoka Lake: Newton-Stewart State Recreation Area (Birdseye) from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. The meeting location will be at the Bike Trail Parking Lot south of CR 1025 S (38.400603,-86.659526). A park pass/fee is required.

There will be another plant ID walk on October 29, 2026. See the event details for more information regarding the walk in October.
