American Citizen Planner Fall Session Registration Opens
Registration starts Septemeber 1, 2026. Session starts October 1, 2026.
The American Citizen Planner provides online training designed to help those currently, or potentially, serving on an area or advisory plan commission in Indiana learn at their own pace. Course participants also register for two live virtual events, which build and expand upon topics covered in the online course.
You’ll understand the roles and responsibilities of public officials, community residents and developers in the planning process, as well as tools and processes planners use to implement
comprehensive plans.
Course Fee: $200, which includes ACP-IN 101, ACP-IN 201 course access, all webinars and the final exam.

The Indiana program American Citizen Planner has successfully been offered statewide twice a year and has trained more than 250 community leaders. Participants come from diverse backgrounds, such as elected officials, professional planners, members of plan commissions, boards of zoning appeals, surveyors, engineers and engaged citizens interested in local planning issues.
