Cultivating Data-Informed Agriculture: Innovation by the Numbers
Join the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine for a webinar exploring how mathematics can help improve agricultural decision-making. Cultivating Data-Informed Agriculture: Innovation by the Numbers will be held Tuesday, March 17 from 2:00–3:00 PM ET.
This discussion will highlight how mathematical tools can help farmers better manage complex variables such as water, soil, and weather—providing insights on topics like crop placement, fertilizer needs, and resource management.
Speakers include Kathleen Kavanagh (Clarkson University), who will discuss water resource management, and Linda Young (National Institute of Statistical Sciences), who will share insights on agricultural statistics. The session will be moderated by Jordan Ellenberg (University of Wisconsin–Madison).
The webinar is part of the Innovation by the Numbers series, which highlights how mathematical sciences are advancing innovation and addressing real-world challenges. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in the discussion.
