From Data to Decisions: Applying On-Farm Analytics in Dairy and Beef Systems

Purdue Animal Sciences is pleased to host Dr. Tadeu da Silva, Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at the University of Vermont, for a seminar focused on the growing role of data analytics in livestock systems.

Dr. da Silva will discuss how automation and precision livestock technologies are enabling more informed, data-driven decision-making in dairy and beef operations. His presentation will explore how scientific knowledge, analytics, and modeling approaches can be integrated into farm management, while also addressing key challenges such as data integration, data quality, and building reliable data pipelines for on-farm decision support.

With a background in ruminant nutrition and modeling, industry experience applying analytics in livestock systems, and current research focused on machine learning in dairy production, Dr. da Silva brings valuable insight into the future of data-enabled animal agriculture.
