Purdue Study Abroad opportunities offer students a chance to discover new adventures across the world, while enhancing their education, building language and communication skills, experiencing diverse cultures and networking.
Purdue Forestry and Natural Resources (FNR) scholarships are available for prospective and current students. One in four students receive scholarships in FNR. Approximately 82 scholarships are awarded each year.
This study abroad course titled "Natural History in LaFortuna and Curú National Wildlife Refuge in Costa Rica" offers students the opportunity to explore biodiversity and hand conduct field studies in tropical rainforest, Pacific dry forest, Pacific rock reef, and Pacific mangrove swamp ecosystems of Costa Rica.

This study abroad course titled "Conservation Biology and Biodiversity Restoration in Columbia" students will have hands/eyes-on exposure to Colombian tropical ecology and ongoing projects for the conservation/restoration of the extraordinary biodiversity distributed across habitats ranging from the Andean forest to marine and marshland sites on the Caribbean Coast.

This study abroad course titled "International Natural Resource Issue in Canada's Pacific Northwest" is a joint course for students from North Carolina State University, Swedish University for Life Sciences (SLU), and Purdue. Topics that will be studied are forestry, fishing, and wildlife challenges and opportunities. Students will gain a holistic and thematic view on sustainable use and management of natural resources for different geographic, ecological and social conditions.

This study abroad course titled "Environment and Culture Exploring in the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador" will introduce the unique environments and the culture of the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador while integrating ecological topics including biodiversity, adaptation and evolution, biogeography, endemicism, and conservation biology. Students will learn about the history of the islands, explore diverse ecosystems, and will see wildlife species including giant tortoises, marine iguanas, sea lions, whales, Galapagos penguins, sea turtles.
