Full-time Farm Help

Bowers Bros. Inc., a family farm located in Northeast Indiana (east of New Haven), is seeking to hire an individual to assist on our row crop farm.  We raise corn, beans, and wheat in eastern Allen County, Indiana and Western Paulding County, Ohio.  We run a progressive agricultural operation that utilizes ag precision technologies.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Perform planting, tillage, spray & fertilizer applications, and install drainage tile in order to attain farm agronomic goals
• Operate farm equipment & machinery
• Operate tractor-trailers related to logistics of grain and agricultural inputs
• Transport crops, livestock, and equipment
• Soil & Tissue Sampling & field scouting, as needed, as well as working with management to review results and produce crop plan
• Maintain & repair equipment & facilities as needed
• Manage precision agriculture equipment & ensure accurate collection of data in field
• Maintain clean working area in shop, on grounds, and in tractors/equipment
• Follow farm safety guidelines & training
• Obtain Pesticide Applicator's license

Skills & Experience:

• *Agricultural production experience is preferred
• Willing to work extended hours during planting & harvesting seasons
• Demonstrate a general knowledge of agronomic management practices, as well as willingness to learn & ability to use technology associated with modern equipment & recordkeeping
• Knowledge of mechanical operation of agricultural equipment, including routine maintenance & repair
• Ability to work as a team and assist others
• Effective communication with coworkers & management
• Valid driver's license, CDL preferred, but not mandatory
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds routinely and heavier lifts as needed
• Driven personality, a strong desire to succeed, and a team player with a positive attitude
