August Corn & Soybean Outlook Update
Purdue ag economists Nathanael Thompson, and James Mintert recorded the August monthly outlook podcast on August 12, 2022. This took place following the release of USDA’s August Crop Production and World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) reports. The Center for Commercial Agriculture’s team reviewed new information from USDA and crop marketing strategies. Updates on balance sheet estimates for both the 21/22 and 22/23 crop years, ethanol demand, ending stock estimates, corn and soybean basis and profitability estimates were all discussed.
