Purdue animal sciences art show competition
The 2026 Purdue Animal Sciences Art Show and Costume Contest will take place on Thursday, October 29.
The annual art show celebrates the creativity and artistic talents of Purdue Animal Sciences students beyond the classroom. Students can showcase their animal-themed artwork in six categories: painting, drawing, black-and-white photography, color photography, graphic design and miscellaneous media. One winner will be selected from each category, with one piece receiving the "Best in Show" award and a permanent display in Creighton Hall.
Students planning to enter artwork should complete the Art Show Entry Form to indicate what they intend to submit.
In addition to viewing student artwork, attendees can participate in the costume contest, enjoy a pumpkin decorating station and visit the Halloween treat bar.

- Only Purdue Animal Sciences students are eligible to submit artwork for the art show.
- All artwork must be animal-themed.
- Artwork must not exceed 10 x 14 inches.
- Each participant may submit only one piece of artwork per category.
- Artwork must be submitted under one of the six designated categories.
- Voting will take place in person through Qualtrics.
- Participants must be physically present to cast their vote.
- Voting is open to all attendees, including students, faculty, staff and visitors.
- One winner will be selected from each category.
- One artwork submission will be awarded the overall "Best in Show" distinction.
Awards and Recognition:
Winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. on the day of the contest. The artwork selected as "Best in Show" will receive a permanent display in Creighton Hall.
Eligibility and Costume Guidelines:
- The costume contest is open to all Purdue Animal Sciences students, faculty and staff.
- Costumes must be animal sciences-themed and appropriate for a university setting.
- Masks and anything that cover the face are not permitted.
- Weapons of any kind, including toy or replica weapons, are prohibited.
- Participants may enter individually or as a group.
- All participants must have their photos taken to be eligible for judging.
- Photos will be reviewed by a selected panel of Purdue Animal Sciences faculty and staff.
- Two awards will be presented: Best Solo Costume and Best Group Costume.
- Winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m. on the day of the contest.
