Microscopy
There is an hourly charge for each microscope and accessory. There is also an hourly charge for staff time. Staff time may include training and or consultation. Most short troubleshooting time is not billed to the user. The following tables show the rates for internal Purdue Users. There are separate rates for non-profit organizations and for-profit customers

Add-on Features/Charges: Add-ons are billed as the microscope rate plus the add-on rate. E.g. The hourly rate for assisted use on the Apreo 2S SEM with EDX is $32 (SEM) + $40 (staff time) + $10 (EDX) = $82.

We are always available to work on projects or to carry out specialized methods – this will be costed by time at $40 per hour plus consumables. Please fill out our request form in iLab to arrange a meeting to discuss your project. In the form, please include details about your project and what you are hoping to learn through electron microscopy. You can upload images and papers within the request form as well. Researchers who wish to work independently within the facility but must have prior approval. Users are required to have training on all major equipment.
