Nicole Widmar, professor and associate head of agricultural economics at Purdue University presented as part of the Data Driven Agriculture webinar series.

Public availability of data has helped U.S. agriculturalists engage in the worldwide marketplace in ways that would not have been possible otherwise. Widmar delves into ongoing research on public and consumer perceptions using web-based publicly available data on agricultural commodities, government agencies, and even to study function in the food supply chain during disruptions arising from COVID-19. We will continue to use publicly available data to study the provision and perception of public goods, which is plentiful in ag and food industries.
