This year’s Spring Fest offers family-friendly, hands-on activities
Cricket flinging, cheese- making and an equine treadmill demonstration are a few of many activities awaiting attendees at the annual Purdue College of Agriculture’s Spring Fest on April 9.
Free and open to the public, Spring Fest will take place throughout the College of Agriculture grounds and buildings, the College of Veterinary Medicine and on the Memorial Mall, offering dozens of interactive activities and educational opportunities for all ages.
“This year Spring Fest is one day only from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.,” said Amy Winger, event coordinator. “There will be tons of activities and fun for the whole family that include science, technology, engineering, arts and cultural experiences.”
Colleges, departments and student organizations participating in Spring Fest will offer activities such as lava lamp making, an insect petting zoo, a cow milking station, a printing press with Purdue-themed posters and a farm machinery show, Winger said. Several designated areas also will be selling food throughout the day.
Free parking for Spring Fest is available in the Marsteller Street and Discovery Park parking lots and the Wood Street Parking Garage. The Harrison Street Garage also is available as a paid parking option.
