About the meat animal evaluation team
The National Meat Animal Evaluation Contest was designed to give students a more complete understanding of meat animal evaluation from conception to consumption. It has encouraged students to be more aware of the relationships and limitations that exist when evaluating breeding and market animals. Plus, it has given students the opportunity to appreciate the importance of carcass excellence as it relates to production, meat processing, merchandising, and consumption. Students participate in a three-day contest with Market Animal, Breeding Animal, Meats, and Communications Divisions.
