China is the largest agricultural and food market for the US. It is also a fast developed competitor. Current trade disputes between the two countries has the most impact on US Agriculture. Chinese culture is quite different to the western culture. Students will gain cross cultural competency through the first-hand experience there.

Japan is another large agricultural and food market for the US. It is a developed country and a US ally, while keep a lot of traditional Asian culture. It also has its own interests in agricultural and food production, consumption and trade. Students can compare the three countries, US-CH-JP in this class.
