Research to Impact Rendezvous
On Friday, September 20th, 2024, Research to Impact Rendezvous will provide a casual networking opportunity for new faculty members and their graduate student to explore the fantastic support ecosystem that Purdue has created for future and current inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs across all twelve academic units.
From 3:00 to 6:00 pm, I hope you take your time to explore our six booths (purpose statements attached) featuring Purdue Innovates’ Office of Technology Commercialization, Incubator and Ventures, as well the Office of Research’s I&E Fellow, I&E Ambassadors, and the NSF I-Corps team, and you engage with your colleagues and administrators from across campus.
Look for the “Ask me” buttons that identify I&E ecosystem liaisons.
Come as you are, stay as long as you like, and enjoy artisan non-alcoholic beverages and fine appetizers. Convergence is a short walk down Mitch Daniels Boulevard; free 2h-parking is readily available on the streets around the building, and for $3 (a worthy investment) at the private parking lot in front of the main entrance.
Entrepreneurial Storytellers
In the two side conference rooms at Convergence, we will feature 12 brief presentations (and introductions/moderation by the respective I&E Fellows or Ambassadors and others) from relatable entrepreneurial storytellers who will give inspirational if realistic pep talks on how they got into commercializing research and innovations, and/or starting a company all while managing time, careers, family and personal sanity.
