Cutting-edge weed research tour and info sessions offered at Purdue Weed Science Field Day

Purdue University’s College of Agriculture will host its Weed Science Field Day on Tuesday, June 27, 8:30 a.m. to noon, at the Throckmorton Purdue Agricultural Center (TPAC). At the free event, researchers and graduate students will educate participants about the newest data in weed science research.

“Attendees will be able to view and hear presentations by current Purdue Weed Science graduate students on their cutting-edge research projects, which include weed control with cover crops, impact of cover crops on soil residual herbicide efficacy, drone sprayer applications, precision weed control tactics and weed control in early planted soybeans,” said Bill Johnson, Purdue professor of weed science.

TPAC, located at 8343 U.S. 231, Lafayette, Indiana, spans 830 acres and comprises nearly one-third of all Purdue’s agriculture research. Weed Science Field Day attendees will review some of these ongoing research projects during the morning session.

Farmers, industry professionals, students and anyone with an interest in weed science is encouraged to attend. Participants can either pre-register online or register at the event at 8 a.m. EDT. Pre-register at: https://purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8jhzbAEBjgHyjcO.
