For our neighbors up north, the Thanksgiving holiday is celebrated on the second Monday of October. In 2021, Canadian Thanksgiving fell on October 11. In light of many friends and family gathering around the dinner table to feast on all our fall favorites, the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada is hosting its 18th annual and 2nd virtual symposium, “Back to the Buffet: Food Safety in a post-COVID World.” The sessions will cover topics from food safety challenges for food processors, retailers, and delivery services following a global pandemic to consumers' at-home preparation.
Our very own Dr. Betty Feng is presenting on the impact of the COVID pandemic on consumer practices and perception on food safety on November 17th at 10:30am – 12:00pm (EST) and will be a panelist for the Q&A session on food safety at home on November 24th at 10:30am – 12:00pm (EST).
There are four sessions in total on November 3rd, 10th 17th, and 24th from 10:30am – 12:00pm (EST). There is no fee to participate, but registration is required. You may register for one or multiple sessions.
