On May 23rd, 2023, Meijer in partnership with its supplier, Lamontagne Chocolate Corp., announced a voluntary recall of Frederik’s Dark Chocolate Almonds and Meijer Express Go Cup Dark Chocolate Almonds. The recall is due to the potential presence of undeclared milk.
The recalled products are sold through Meijer stores in stand-up pouches and in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin at Meijer Express stores in to-go cups. All dates of both dark chocolate covered almonds with 7-08820-68730-1 and 7-60236-19787-4 UPC’s are impacted. Meijer states that the products include undeclared milk due to a product specification change from the supplier, Lamontagne Chocolate Corp., and that they were not informed.
Consumers who have severe sensitivity to milk should stop eating the product immediately as it can cause life-threatening problems. Consumers who purchased a product from any of the mentioned stores are recommended to discontinue use and return the product to the customer service desk at any Meijer store for a full refund.
For any questions or concerns, customers can ask questions and get refunded by contacting the Meijer at 800-543-3704 from 7 a.m.-1 a.m. EDT daily.
