On May 31st, Tillamook County Creamery Association announced a voluntary recall of specific lots of family-size 1.5qt cartons of Tillamook Waffle Cone Swirl ice cream that was mistakenly packaged in a Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream carton. The recall is due to the potential presence of undeclared wheat and soy, which is not stated on the Chocolate Peanut Butter label.
Only 1440 cartons of the recalled product were distributed in Safeway grocery stores and in the state of Washington and parts of northern Idaho. The Tillamook Waffle Cone Swirl ice cream is packaged in a Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter carton and with a Tillamook Waffle Cone Swirl lid. The affected lot codes of TL-41-80 and BB041324 (which means best by date of 04/13/2024) are printed on the bottom of the carton.
Tillamook became aware of mislabeling after a consumer reached out to the company. They recommend a person who has severe allergies to wheat and soy to avoid the consumption of ice cream, as well as return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.
