On April 7th , 2023, Meijer announced a voluntary recall of select Fresh From Meijer premade salads. The recall is due to the potential presence of contamination with Listeria Monocytogenes, posing a risk to young children, frail or elderly people.
The recalled product was distributed in Meijer stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. The recalled premade salads with specific labels should be immediately thrown away. And if any problem occurs, customers can request a full refund at the Customer Service desk of the Meijer store.
Listeria monocytogenes in premade salad can cause symptoms like high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, posing a risk to young children, frail or elderly people. It might worsen the immune system and cause short-term symptoms and might even cause miscarriages.
