Frederik’s Dark Chocolate Almonds Recalled Due to Presence of Undeclared Cashews

On June 13, 2025, Meijer announced a voluntary recall of certain packages of Frederik’s Dark Chocolate Almonds. This recall is due to the product potentially containing dark chocolate-covered cashews as well, which is not declared on the label.

The product was sold in Meijer stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. The recalled product was sold in black stand-up pouches as well as 8 count, 1.5-ounce multi-pack boxes. The sell-by dates for the stand-up pouches were 05/07/2026 and 05/28/2026, and the sell-by date for the multi-pack boxes was 05/05/2026.

To date, Meijer has not received any claims of any illness associated with the recall. However, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cashews could potentially have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction to this product.

Consumers are encouraged to discontinue using this product and to return it to the customer service desk at any Meijer store for a full refund. For any questions or concerns, customers can call 800-5430-3704 from 7:00 AM to 1 AM EDT on any day of the week.
