Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style ½ Loaf Recalled Due to Undeclared Hazelnut

On July 10, 2025, Hartford Bakery, Inc. announced a recall of six effected lot codes of Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style ½ Loaf. This recall is due to the product potentially containing hazelnuts, which is not declared on the label.

The product was distributed in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Alabama, and Mississippi at retailers including Walmart and Kroger. The recalled product was sold in a flexible plastic bag with the following information:

  • Lot code T10 174010206, T10 174010306, T10 174010406, T10 174020206, T10 174020306, T10 174020406
  • UPC 24126018152
  • Net Weight: 12 OZ (340 g)
  • Expiration Date: 7/13/2025

To date, no major injury or illness have been reported, but one customer has reported digestive discomfort after consumption. However, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to hazelnuts could potentially have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction to this product.

Consumers are urged to discontinue using this product and to return it to the place of service for a full refund. For any questions or concerns, consumers can call 1-812-425-4642 from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM CST Monday-Friday except for holidays.
