Mrs. Dickson earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s at Oklahoma State University in Agricultural Economics. Prior to Purdue University, she lived and worked for 6 years abroad on 2 different continents. Amanda was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay, South America for 3.5 years working with farmers to learn new techniques such as intercropping, crop rotation, green manures, beekeeping, and introducing new cash crops. Amanda also worked in South Korea with students ranging from elementary to college to improve their English proficiency. Since 2010, she has been working for Purdue Extension as an Agriculture & Natural Resources (ANR)/4-H Educator in Brown County, ANR Educator in Morgan County, and Interim Area Director for Area 9. She currently serves as the International Extension Specialist for the College of Agriculture. In this role, she provides leadership for the development and implementation of projects to engage Extension internationally, enhances the cultural environment within Purdue Extension, and increases the international experiences of Purdue Extension faculty and staff. She is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Social Science.
