Name: Myah Sandlin
Hometown: Westfield, IN

Why did you come to Purdue: I wanted to go into the agricultural field after taking a botany class in high school. I cannot imagine going anywhere but Purdue for an undergrad in Agriculture!
Favorite Purdue tradition: Fountain runs!
Top three influences at Purdue:
- My friends
- My study abroad experience
- My cat
Top five memories of your time at Purdue:
- Hammocking in the Clapping Circles between classes
- Getting full points on an art critique
- Taking exams at the University Church
- Watching Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse with a live orchestra
- Meeting amazing new friends
Places you have been as a Purdue student:
I had the fantastic opportunity to study abroad during Fall 2022 in Copenhagen through DIS! While overseas I visited 8 countries as a Purdue student:
- Denmark (Picture of my Copenhagen friends!)
- Sweden
- Amsterdam
- Poland
- Greece (me on Mount Lycabettus!)
- Ireland
- Hungary
- Iceland (solo trip for a week!) (me on top of the Sólheimajökull glacier)
I was able to learn things from talented and kind professors and made some amazing friends too!
Favorite club/organization: Purdue EDM Club! I am on the marketing team, and it is always a bunch of fun, especially when we go to raves! (Picture of me below at our Subtronics trip in fall 2023)
Favorite student-led event/initiative: My favorite student-led event is the Rocky Horror Picture Show watching the PSUB puts on every Halloween season. Watching Rocky Horror has been a tradition I have done since high school and was able to introduce the tradition to my friends through the event!
Favorite Purdue event: AG WEEK! Milk Monday is the best.
Favorite place on campus/Favorite place to study: I love studying in either the LGBTQ+ center on campus or the 2nd floor of Krannert near the windows!
Favorite thing about the College of Ag: My advisor LeeAnn Williams. She has been an amazing help through my years at Purdue and I cannot imagine getting through my academic planning without her. LeeAnn has made me feel heard as a student, and I never doubt her dedication to the College of Ag!
Favorite class: I had the opportunity to take an Urban Photography class in Copenhagen. The class helped me find a better understanding of my creative style of photography, learn from other cultures, and expand upon my own project.
Favorite teacher: Professor: Michael Strombeck! He was the professor for my Drawing 101 class and was the greatest professor I have had. He is an amazing artist as well as a fantastic teacher, fostering one of the best class environments I have been in at Purdue.
Three biggest accomplishments at Purdue:
- Invited to 2021 Agriculture Future of America Leader's Conference in Kansas City, MO
- Making the Dean's List for 2022
- Photographing for the Purdue Chemical Engineering Marketing Team
Something about you that is not listed on your resume: I love to crochet!
Future Plans: I want to eventually have a job that allows me to intertwine photography and agriculture!
Advice for lower classmen: When you stop caring about how other people perceive you, you can truly be yourself.
Biggest takeaway from Purdue: The future is what you make it!
