Meet the 2026-27 PSG Student Body President
Kelby Roberts (Senior, Agricultural Economics: Policy and Pre-Law; Falmouth, IN) is serving as the 2026-27 Purdue Student Government (PSG) Student Body President. She originally got involved with PSG when a small group of fellow Agricultural Economics students asked her to serve as a Senate Associate Member (SAM). This role led to her appointment to the PSG Cabinet as PSG Parliamentarian. Kelby explained, “It was in this role that my love for the organization really grew.”

In addition to these two roles, Kelby served on the Indiana Lifeline Law Coalition, where Purdue students actively and successfully advocated for an amendment to Indiana’s medical amnesty law. Kelby shared, “Seeing that amendment championed by Purdue students and working alongside a group of passionate Boilermakers to see it through has been one of the coolest and most transformational experiences I’ve had as a student.”
Some of her favorite PSG memories include late-night ice cream runs after Senate sessions during her first year at Purdue. Kelby also enjoyed the conversations down to Indianapolis for visits to the Indiana State House and Purdue Indianapolis.

Kelby reflected, “As I approached my senior year, the thought of having two “last” semesters was constantly circling my mind. Moreover, how I was going to spend those last two semesters weighed heavily on my heart. I felt a call to explore opportunities for leadership that would touch every corner of campus. Naturally, that pointed me to the organization that acts as the representative body for every Purdue student, Purdue Student Government (PSG).”
After approaching with caution and exploring various avenues, Kelby found two other committed Boilermakers (Matthew Schilt and Lilly Anna Starmer) and launched a campaign with the slogan – “Amplify. Unify. Support.” They already have a handful of initiatives in the works, with more to come as they hope to accomplish a great deal throughout their year of service.
