2023 Food Science Seniors
Four years of Giant Leaps
Members of the 2023 Food Science senior class have made giant leaps both inside and outside of the classroom. While balancing the challenging course load of a food science student, these individuals have served in multiple leadership positions, secured competitive internships and jobs, and have made lifelong connections. Although these seniors have Food Science in common, each of them has experiences that makes their time at Purdue unique. 2023 Food Science Seniors

Ella Bryan
Senior Ella Bryan has certainly made the most of her time at Purdue! While minoring in pet food processing and fermentation, Ella has studied abroad in Germany, completed an internship with Sargento, and fostered strong relationships with her peers. Upon graduation, Ella will utilize her fermentation knowledge while working for Anheuser Busch.

Lauren Decker
During her time at Purdue, Lauren has taken her leadership skills outside of the classroom by serving as the president of Twin Pines Cooperative and serving as a student worker the Food Science pilot plant. After graduation, Lauren has secured a position with Cargill as a Protein Business Operations and Supply Chain Associate in Minnesota.

Zach Hoag
Zach is minoring in Fermentation and is the president and founder of the Purdue Fermentation Club. Zach has played an active role in the department and on campus, working for FEMI and serving in multiple leadership positions for the Boiler Gold Rush program. After graduation, Zach plans to head west to Plano, Texas, where he will work as an Associate Food Scientist at Pepsico.

Isabell Mahin
From England to Greece, Food Science senior Isabell Mahin has left her mark all over the world through study abroad experiences. Here on campus, Isabell is a member of the Purdue Women’s Club Volleyball team and a student contributor for FEMI. After graduation, Isabell plans to attend Sonoran University of Health Science to pursue a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine.

Ishani Roychowdhury
Ishani Roychowdhury is minoring in Spanish and is the vice president of the Political Discourse Club. During her time at Purdue, Ishani has completed 3 internships with the National Food Lab Sensory Testing, Ingredion, and Pepsico. After graduation, Ishani plans to take her talents to New York to work for PepsiCo.

Genevieve Ruiz
Food Science senior Genevieve Ruiz has been brewing a passion for fermentation science and the craft alcoholic beverage industry! During her time at Purdue, Genevieve took a couple of fermentation courses and applied her knowledge during internships at a Michigan distillery and Indiana brewery. She hopes to carry this experience to her future career.

Maddie Trevelino
Maddie Trevelino is marching her way through her senior year! As a 4-year member of the Purdue All-American Marching Band, Maddie has made some lasting memories during her time as a student. After graduation, Maddie will work as a Liquid Commercialization Specialist supporting Diageo at their facility in Plainfield, Illinois.
